We have a school wide approach to spelling though SMART Spelling. It supports our teachers to facilitate a fun and engaging approach to spelling.

Our Smart Spelling program is based around using whole words with an emphasis on meaning and vocabulary development. We ensure that students are able to read their spelling words, understand what they mean and how to use them within context. We teach a variety of spelling rules in the context of the words in a way that builds on prior learning. Our teachers focus on patterns to assist students in building spelling knowledge.
